I thought the latino family stuff was entertaining. As a man with two other brothers, I did like the brotherhood conflicts that were occurring in the movie. As to why I was entertained, I can't say. Maybe beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Heck, I like to watch American Chopper, which is a "boring" show about building motorcycles.

As to your points about the film's pro-life ambiguity, I think you are correct. And if the producers of the film were calling me and saying my silence was demonic, my enjoyment of the film would change dramatically. That kind of comment is ridiculous.

As to what is or is not bad art, I couldn't say. I thought Star Wars was fun and entertaining, but then again, I guess it was bad art.adminhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08493624191858808927noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5020370.post-66972455443796005602007-10-30T13:46:00.000-07:002007-10-30T13:46:00.000-07:00I saw it on Sunday, and agree with your overall ta...I saw it on Sunday, and agree with your overall take on it. The film does not even rise to the level of "low budget art-house movie". It is what it is, namely the very amateurish project of some folks that got carried away by the goodness of their cause. This attitude is perfectly illustrated by your being told that your lack of support had its source "in the demonic". The problem is not with the guys who don't know the first thing about putting together a presentable film, it's that your demon-infested soul rejects the Visitation of Pure Goodness of which these guys are the instrument. But, of course.

That being said, I do think their hearts were in the right place (if not their prudence, intellect, and talents), and I found the lead actor to be an intriguing presence. Hopefully he'll be able to move onto better things.Matteohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05393908406875742989noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5020370.post-65561868662636131892007-10-28T18:42:00.000-07:002007-10-28T18:42:00.000-07:00The Pro-Abortion Liberal Secular Critics hate "Bel...The Pro-Abortion Liberal Secular Critics hate "Bella" and loved "Vera Drake" and "Cyder House Rules".

I'm willing to bet that the truth lies somewhere between these "critics" and the Pro-Life folks stumping for Bella.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08677779162204813619noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5020370.post-76429119317813434502007-10-27T21:52:00.000-07:002007-10-27T21:52:00.000-07:00eh...This is exactly what I felt as the movie ende...eh...

This is exactly what I felt as the movie ended.
